Cuban-Peruvian fusion cuisine – Delicious food and great atmosphere!
Traditional Cuban cuisine, Arroz con pollo (rice with chicken), Ropa vieja (shredded flank steak in a tomato sauce base) and baked pork are pretty salty or may taste too strong for you sometimes. People who live in a tropical climate tend to put more salt and sugar on their food to get energy from those condiments.
But if you feel like eating something different from Cuban cuisine, I recommend Restaurante Ideas. The food is of a very good quality and the prices are very reasonable.
Climb up stairs and you will find a bar area. It is a colonial building with high ceilings, but the interior is very modern. On the back of the restaurant, there is a dining area. You can also sit at the terrace, but you may want to eat inside with AC in hot weather.
Taking a little break from tasty Cuban cuisine, Cheviche is a good choice to get refreshed. Some other Paradores also serve Cheviche, but the one with white fish in this place is the best. Enjoy it with cold beer!
2. Chupe de Mariscos
You can try Peruvian seafood soup in Cuba! Spicy hot soup with fish, shrimp, squid and lobster which is a Cuban specialty. This spicy soup also can be accompanied by beer!
3. Chef’s Special: Beef Risotto
Sweet and sourr baised beef and onions match with plain risotto. This is a special menu, so I hope that they have it on the menu on the day of your visit!
