Cuba began clinical trials of vaccine candidates against COVID-19 on Monday, August 24th. And on Wednesday, the coordinating center reported that the first 20 subjects in a clinical trial of anti-SARS-CoV-2 FINLAY-FR-1 vaccine candidates were completely healthy 48 hours after vaccination.

The only side effect recorded in a clinical trial named SOBERANA 01 was mild pain at the injection site, a side effect common to all vaccines.

Future trials will begin on subjects in the age group of 60-80 years.
