Cuba’s second most visited tourist destination after Havana

Within 2 hours and half drive from Havana (about 200km away) , there come in your sight green craggy mogotes and tropical royal palm trees surrounding all the village.

Viñales is a beautiful valley in Pinar del Rio province of Cuba, and was declared to one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. Hidden from those greens, you will find tobacco-chewing farmers and brown hut made with palm leaves where you will learn about Tobacco.

Discover the curious history of geography of Viñales and those indigenous lives, and enjoy farmers organic vegetables with magnificent view!

How to get to Viñales

Viñales is a town in western Cuba, within 2 hours and half drive from Havana.

  • 2 hours and 20 minutes/180km from Havana
  • 4 hours and 30 minutes/325km from Varadero


By bus:  From Havana, it takes about 3 hours by bus and costs approximately $12 USD/CUC.

Víazul ( has two daily buses from Havana to Viñales and one bus to be back to Havana.

Make sure to book your bus ticket at least a day in advance, the buses frequently sell out a day in advance. You can book your tickets here, but prices are cheaper at the bus stations.

Víazul ( has two daily buses from Havana to Viñales, one bus from Varadero and one bus from Viñales to Havana. :

  • Havana to Viñales: ($12 USD/CUC) –3 hours
  • Varadero to Viñales: ($12 USD/CUC) – 3 hour & 50 min

If you take a taxi from Havana, it costs approximately $80USD/CUC. Also you can order a taxi in advance (online) which takes 2 hour and 40 minuits and costs $114 CUC up to 3 persons/$220 CUC for 4 persons. For more information, click here.

Renting a car is another option. Booking a car rental in Cuba is not easy, so make sure to book a car several weeks, if not months, in advance online.
