Zoológico de La Habana
This National Zoo is Cuba’s oldest zoo, opened in 1939. It is also known as Zoológico de 26 and is one of the most popular places for Cuban families to visit, especially for toddlers and small children.
Meet the animals from around the world including zebras, elephants and monkeys. You can board the small train with your kids for your tour of the zoo.
Callejon de Hamel
The narrow two-block long alley between Aramburu and Hospital streets in Centro Habana that has been converted into a work of art. It has become a shrine to Afro-Cuban religions through the art created by Salvador González. Your teenagers will enjoy its funky street murals and psychedelic art shops.
The best day to visit is on Sunday when rumba groups play music there.
Explore this historical area where you will see unforgettable architecture. The pastel painted colonial buildings and cobblestone roads are fun to visit with the kids.
Take a stroll along the waterfront and check out the views of the Havana fort. You will see fisherman along the way and kids playing in the rocks along the sea front.
Parque La Maestranza is a fun amusement park for the kids. Located opposite the Malecon in Old Havana, it has lots of rides for the kids as well as playground equipment, and urrently is only open on the weekends.
Museo de la Revolución
This fascinating museum mainly had artifacts from the Cuban revolution period and will keep the kids interested. The building is an old presidential palace. In behind the museum is a glass building that houses the yacht that Fidel Castro took from Mexico to Cuba for the revolution.
The souvenir market
You will find lots of various souvenirs such as colorful paintings, girls dresses, jewelry, wood carvings and brightly colored paper mache toys. Teenagers will love this place!
Coppelia Ice Cream
This ice cream place is a must do in Havana with kids. The line ups may be long but its worth the wait for these delicious creamy treats. There is a nice park to relax in and enjoy your treat.
Museo del Chocolate
Kids can enjoy a large variety of different chocolates, chocolate milk, chocolate ice-cream, etc. The café part is busy and there is a wait, but if you are seated inside, you can look inside the small glass enclosed section, to see how the chocolate is made.
Museum of Natural History
This museum showcases the flora and fauna of Cuba. It is located in Old Havana near to Plaza de Armas which has a small park.
